The Peoples Church of Chicago has a long and proud history of
participation in Chicago civic affairs and in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.
We are embarking on a new era, and part of our task is to figure out who we want to
be, as we move ahead. These pages are meant to help us think together about our future. Please
email your comments and
questions and answers, and we'll add them to each section, so it will be a
living document.
What are our Goals?
Where do we want to go
next? How do we see our next fifty years in Chicago? Who do we
want to be, and how do we want to impact Uptown and the city?
What are our deepest Values? What do we want the congregation to
embody? How do we want the congregation to show those values in its
relationships with the community?
Mapping the Future: Who are we? Who is in the
neighborhood? What are the concepts of love and justice and wholeness that we want to
embody? What are the obstacles? What are the assets, of both the
congregation and the community? How shall we
proceed?
