Peoples Church is affiliated with both the United
Church of Christ and the Unitarian
Universalist Association of Congregations. Both are
non-creedal: we don't ask you to change your beliefs to belong, nor do
we ask you to
subscribe to particular religious beliefs.
We do ask you to treat others with respect and
consideration, and do your best to sow seeds of love and compassion.
We invite you to explore and to grow spiritually in conversation with
others.
This congregation operates democratically: we
elect trustees annually to run the business of the church. And we
observe congregational polity - we hire our own ministers and make decisions
together that affect our life as a congregation: our church is
autonomous, while consulting and participating with the larger community of
UCC and UU congregations in our area.
We believe that the big decisions must be made
prayerfully, with the active discernment of the whole congregation.
